ROAD SAFETY NEEDS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Bellarine North & Bayside Geelong Rotary Clubs along with Victoria Police are acknowledging the work on improving Road Safety in the Geelong and surrounding area by Victoria Police Officers. The two Rotary Clubs provide an annual award and cash donation to a charity selected by the winning Officer.

The Dr John Birrell Road Safety Practitioner of the year was awarded to Senior Constable Rob Nuske, Geelong Highway Patrol.

Senior Constable Rob was given $3000 to donate to a group of his choice. He chose Geelong Youth Engagement “You Just Never Know” Program. https://geelongyouthengagement.org.au/seans-story/.

This Program is run at Costa Hall where Year 11 students come and hear from people who have been involved in trauma that has totally changed their lives. Andrew Brittain, CEO GYE indicated the engagement of the students has been amazing, even to the point that by choice their mobile phones have remained out of sight.
