Adrian Mannix Community Award for 2019 - Jenny Nikelson

Adrian Mannix was a Drysdale local who lived his life to the full and was known as a bit of a larrikin. Born with partial limbs due to Thalidomide, this did not slow him down or stop him from working, playing and enjoying life here on earth.

After his death an Award was named in his honour to acknowledge the many people in our own local community who give back way more than they ever receive.

This year the 18th awardee was presented at a recent get together at our very own local Community Hall. Five people were nominated which shows that we are well aware of the people in our community going above and beyond.

This year’s worthy winner was Jenny Nikelson who is a local identity who has achieved much in her quiet unassuming manner. All the more reason for her to be recognised with the Adrian Mannix Community Award for 2019. Her ongoing involvement with leading worship at the Drysdale Uniting Church and running the children’s music program Mainly Music has helped impact the lives of many of our little humans as they explore what music can do for them

Thank you Jenny and congratulations from the Rotary Club of Drysdale, Portarlington Lions Club and Springdale Neighbourhood House. You are a very worthy recipient.
